Osman Shahenshah has 20 years of experience in oil and gas finance and capital markets. He has developed and implemented public and private sector projects worldwide in energy, infrastructure and the process industries, with a primary focus on oil and gas. He has been actively involved in the African gas sector for more than 15 years, advising companies such as Shell, Chevron, Total, Agip, NNPC and Marathon, and has worked on the Nigeria LNG, Equatorial Guinea LNG, Trinidad LNG and RasGas LNG projects.

He is the Chief Executive Officer of Afren plc, a company he co-founded in 2004. His international career has included senior positions in the oil and gas groups of the International Finance Corporation, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Medicredito Centrale

He has a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, a Masters degree from Columbia University and a BA from Brown University.
